Beat the Hose Pipe Ban!
A large part of overall consumption by a household can be garden use, especially in the summer months.
In January 2009, The Department of Environment, Heritage and Local Government signed an order and regulations bringing into effect Section 56 of the Water Services Act 2007. These Regulations state that where a water services authority is of the opinion that serious water shortages are imminent, it may make an order (Hosepipe ban) prohibiting or restricting the use of water supplies for watering gardens, recreational parks or sports grounds, washing cars and trailers (including by commercial car wash facilities), filling or replenishing swimming pools, ponds and lakes and irrigating or spraying crops.
As well as the full harvesting system, HRD Technologies Ltd can also supply a simple StormBank® Garden system.
The StormBank® Garden collects water from the roof in the same way as the full system, but no control panel is required inside the house. Instead, a supplied hose runs from an automatic pump in the tank to a connection at the surface ready for your garden hose or sprinkler.
Since there is no mains water connection, this system can continue to be used without contravening any hose pipe restrictions in force in your area.
The system is perfect for retrofitting to an existing house, as there is no need for internal pipework to be carried out - just a power connection for the pump. No need for control panels or pipework from the house!
A range of tank sizes is available:
- 1000 litres
- 1800 litres
- 3300 litres
- 5000 litres
- 6000 litres
