DynaDeni
A process plant for the removal of nitrogen using the DynaSand-Deni,
denitrification process.
The water which is to be nitrified is admitted into the DynaSand filter through
an inlet distributor. As the water flows upwards through
the filter bed, ammonia is converted into nitrate by bacteria
- Nitrosomonas and Nitrobacter - which form a layer on the
surfaces of the filter grains. The bacteria, which are autotrophic
and thus live only on inorganic materials, produce new biomass
out of carbon dioxide.
Advantages
| • |
Proven technology |
| • |
High reaction rates throughout the bed |
| • |
Preditors cannot survive the action of the air-lift
pump and sand washer |
| • |
Auto control of external carbon source reduces risk
of high BOD in final effluent |
| • |
Space Saving |
