Maintenance
The Grit King® Separator is a self-cleaning devise with no internal moving parts, therefore minimal maintenance is envisaged over the operating life of the separator.

All ancillary equipment has been specially selected for their reliability and durability, when operated in accordance to the Hydro International standard control philosophy will operate for many trouble free years. Full maintenance requirements are shown on the Maintenance Schedule Guide.

1 Grit King® Separator 'Month one only'
External visual inspection for water tightness.
External visual inspection for water tightness. Drain down, flush out, and inspect.  
2 Water Backwash None. Check filter in Press Reducer.    
3 Air Backwash (alternative to water) None. Check inlet filter.
6 Monthly
Replace air filter.
  7,000 hours check blades. Hereafter every 1,000 hours.
4 Series 3 &
Grit-Cleanse™ Classifier
As 1 above, plus inspect for free grit discharge. As 1 above, plus inspect for blockage free grit discharge. As 1 above.  
5 Grit Removal Pump As 1 above. As 1 above.   5 year. Monitor flow, if below 15% of classifier design flow replace the pump impeller.
6 Grit Removal Actuated Valve
(alternative to pump)
As 1 above. As 1 above.    
7 Isolation Valves Generally no periodic maintenance of the drain down valve, the isolation valves or the non-return valve is required other than a half-yearly visual inspection for water tightness and general operation.
