How it Works The Swirl-Flo® Process uses single or multiple units
in parallel, depending upon the flow to be treated. Flow
enters the units tangentially to create a low speed vortex
motion with treated effluent passing on to further treatment
via a top spillway outlet. The collected sludge is removed
from the base hopper the same way as conventional primary
tanks.
The sludge normally thickens to 2-5% dry solids (by weight).
The dry solids concentration will be a function of frequency
and duration of sludge removal.
Secondary / Tertiary Treatment
If a higher quality effluent is required, the influent can
be dosed with coagulants and flocculants. In this way the
performance of the process can be tailored to meet a range
of effluent standards. |
